Every year Wallendbeen Public School participates in activities to widen the experiences of its students.
Some of the events include:
The Baldry Shield
The Baldry Shield began in 1943 and has been an annual event ever since. It is an opportunity for small schools to get together and compete in a social setting in a number of athletic events. The Baldry Shield commemorates the memory of a member of the Baldry family who died in WWII. The Shield is awarded annually by a member of this family to the successful school.
Golden Circle Fun Run
Each year students train ready to participate in the "Golden Circle Fun Run". Students run from two to five kilometres to raise mony to assist people suffering from cancer.
Clean Up Australia
Caring for the environment is an important aspect of growing up in a rural setting. Each year students and community enjoy finding out how clean the village is by cleaning up Wallendbeen.
Streamwatch
Another important feature of Wallendbeen is Connaughtmans Creek. Streamwatch has encouraged the students to keep the local waterway clean and care about chemicals in their environment.
School Performances
Using drama as an area for students to express themselves results in a number of performances during the year. The community supports the students by attending every event.
Perceptual Motor Program
Recognising the need for young students to have good coordination skills as a pre-requisite to early reading and numeracy skills, the school funds a Perceptual Motor Program every year.
