Wallendbeen Public School is a small  rural school. Our school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Currently the Principal is Mrs Susan Castle.

Wallendbeen Public School is situated in the village of Wallendbeen 18km north of Cootamundra. It was established in 1881. The school boasts an extensive playground area with large shade covered play equipment, a school vegetable garden, netted cricket pitches, netball court, a volleyball court and attractive gardens and native trees.

Key features of the school include emphasis on individual academic achievement and excellence, an abundance of advanced technology as well as frequent connections with neighbouring small schools to encourage healthy social development and regular extension opportunities, including promoting confident transition to high school.

Success for all our students is ensured by the delivery of a structured and enriching curriculum with a whole school focus that is positive and rewarding and strengthened by a supportive and active community. All students are taught the skills and values necessary for success in education and life.

The school is well resourced with a wide range of library books, computers, literacy resources, numeracy resources and sporting equipment. Student needs are catered for by challenging educational programs planned by experienced teachers.

Our success is due to the commitment of all staff members who effectively facilitate opportunities to nurture the potential of every child, aiming at developing and celebrating personal excellence in a happy and caring environment.  Valuing and respecting others is a priority.

Currently our school employs an additional two teachers allowing students to work in small common age and stage groups with excellent opportunities for  individual student attention.

Students have access to the latest multimedia digital technologies integrated into our curriculum to to enhance student learning.  All students use the internet, are taught skills in project and  web publishing, digital story writing and  moviemaking.  Our students are connected to other schools and their global world through use of video conferencing facilities.  These facilities also enable wider staff professional learning and networking.

The community liaison is strong with students involved in CWA, Combined Guild and Junior Red Cross activities. The P&C and School Council are very active, assisting in the decision making in the school as well as supporting the school in its endeavours to improve the facilities and programs for students. The P&C and School Council meet regularly the first Monday of every month.

The school values its links with other schools within the area. Inter-school visits for sport, cultural visits and other special subject days are frequent and give the students the opportunity to socialise and learn with other students their own age in small and large schools and to expand their learning parameters.

School excursions are linked to school learning programs and welcome the involvement of the school community.

Our school commences at 9.30am with recess at 11.10a.m. and lunch at 1.10pm. School finishes at 3.30pm.

Assemblies are held fortnightly on Thursday afternoons at 3.00pm. Parents and community are invited to attend as student success is acknowledged and celebrated through performance and display.  Assemblies are led by our students to promote student leadership and public speaking.

The school has a clothing pool for parents wishing to take advantage of this facility.

The Life Education Van visits regularly each year to promote student healthy life choices. Wombat Public School integrates with our school on this day.

The Baldry Shield is held each year at the Wallendbeen Oval. This carnival dates back to the early 1940's and is a Small Schools Athletics Carnival. The local community is very involved with this activity.

An extensive Orientation Program for incoming Kindergarten students begins in Term 4. This enables students to settle into an environment that is both familiar and friendly when they begin school the next year.

Wallendbeen Public School welcomes visitors, community members and new students. We look forward to meeting and working with you.
